Designing a Digital Nudging Nexus
Digital nudging has been defined as the application of user-interface design elements to guide peoples’ behavior in digital choice environments. How-ever, there are a large variety of digital nudges one may include when designing a user-interface for a digital infrastructure. Hence, designers need for assistance when choosing the digital nudges to apply in the digital infrastructure that they are designing. In this paper we present the design of a digital nudging nexus that can be used by designer when choosing nudges. The nexus includes five steps, called framing, before, in, and after action, and finally consider. The designed digital nudging nexus was evaluated comprehensively through a formative and summative evaluation in the design of serious games and found to be truly valuable for designers of digital infrastructures.
