Investigation of cutting tool and workpiece positioning precision as a critical factor in enhancing machining accuracy

This paper investigates the critical role of positioning precision in machining processes and explores advanced methodologies and technologies for optimizing tool and workpiece alignment to achieve superior manufacturing outcomes. It emphasizes the impact of dimensional and geometric accuracy on product quality, operational efficiency, and component longevity, particularly in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering. The study highlights the importance of advanced positioning systems, such as pneumatic clamping, hydraulic systems, laser interferometers, and real-time error correction mechanisms, in mitigating errors caused by thermal expansion, tool deflection, and system misalignment. Through a series of experimental trials on CNC machine tools, the paper demonstrates how these technologies enhance tool stability, reduce dimensional deviations, and improve machining precision. The results indicate that incorporating real-time error correction and precision- enhancing strategies significantly improves machining outcomes, including cutting efficiency, tool life, and overall product quality. This work provides valuable insights into the integration of adaptive machining technologies for optimizing precision in complex manufacturing environments.
