Automation of Cold Storage Warehouses: Implementing Robotic Arms for Efficient Truck Loading

A perishable supply chain is essential in a global context for the cautious handling of time-sensitive products that preserve freshness, avoid economic losses, and mitigate environmental implications. The cold warehouse is essential in addressing the distinct issues of product distribution within the cold chain for perishable supply chains. In recent years, the significance of cold storage warehouses has escalated, particularly in the sectors of food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Nonetheless, despite their vital significance, numerous facilities have considerable operating difficulties, particularly concerning the maintenance of efficiency in freezing conditions. Truck loading in outbound logistics poses significant issues due to its dependence on physical handling. This study aims to address the formerly described difficulty by incorporating modern technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Simulation approaches were employed to investigate the implementation of automation methods and to provide the most appropriate model for addressing current operational difficulties. The research underscores that automation solutions have greatly enhanced operational efficacy while addressing current essential challenges and mitigating safety risks to operators.
