Wide-angle and magnified tilted-plane holographic reconstruction using multi-segment phase encoding and spatial rotation

In this work, we propose a segmented-rotation hologram (SRH) algorithm that enables image rotation and magnified reconstruction on arbitrarily tilted planes. The method combines a modified Gerchberg–Saxton algorithm with spatial phase segmentation: each image region is assigned an individual phase mask, rotated through a geometric transform, and then multiplexed into a single hologram. Simulations and experiments confirm that the reconstructed images appear at the correct observation angles with effective magnification, without requiring additional lenses or custom holographic elements. The demonstrated configuration supports projection-plane rotations up to 60°. The SRH approach simplifies the optical architecture, extending both the accessible angular range and the achievable magnification in holographic display systems.
