Findings indicate that pay/fringe benefits, promotion opportunities, leadership style, supervision quality, interpersonal relationships and working conditions significantly influence job satisfaction. The challenges identified include irregular salary payments, inadequate employee appraisal and recognition, marginalization by institutional authorities, and an unconducive work environment. The study concludes that while female librarians in tertiary institutions in Benue State report high job satisfaction, these challenges may hinder long-term motivation and productivity. The study recommends among others, timely payment of salary, transparent promotion policies, enhanced welfare packages and equitable career growth opportunities.
