Comprehensive Review on Nanogels through AI-driven Innovations in Nanotechnology

Abstract: Nanogels are nanoscale hydrogel particles with high water content, biocompatibility, and the ability to encapsulate a broad spectrum of therapeutic molecules for targeted, controlled drug delivery. Their distinctive physicochemical characteristics, such as tunable size, stimulusresponse, and surface functionalization, make them highly suitable for biomedical applications. The recent addition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly facilitated the design, synthesis, and optimization of nanogels. Artificial intelligence tools such as predictive modeling and machine learning now support nanogel property customization, improving drug-loading efficiency, predicting release kinetics, and reducing the time and expense of experimental trials. The review provides an in-depth overview of the AI-enabled revolution in nanogel technology, covering the synthesis process, drug-delivery mechanism, diagnosis, and future research. Cancer treatment, immunomodulation, biosensing, and regenerative medicine developments are highlighted, and the prospect of AI in personalization and therapeutic effect optimization is emphasized. Clinical translation challenges, regulatory concerns, and the need for standardized protocols have also been addressed in the manuscript. A new generation of intelligent, responsive, and patient-tailored drug-delivery systems is expected as nanotechnology and AI converge. This review aims to serve as a comprehensive manual for researchers seeking to explore advancements in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of nanogels and artificial intelligence.
