Low zero-dispersion-wavelength all-solid anti-resonant fiber for deep ultraviolet supercontinuum generation
Effective dispersion control, especially for low zero-dispersion wavelength (ZDW) and flat dispersion, is crucial for generating supercontinuum (SC) spectra that extend into the deep ultraviolet (UV). This paper proposes and numerically investigates a low ZDW all-solid anti-resonant fiber (AAF) for deep UV SC generation. The optical fiber transmission characteristics are analyzed by the full-vector finite element method, and the evolution of the pumping light into SC is numerically simulated through the nonlinear Schrödinger equation solved by the split-step Fourier method. The results of the numerical analysis show that the AAF structure has a minimum ZDW of 196[Formula: see text]nm and dispersion slopes ranging from [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text]. When the AAF is pumped in the anomalous dispersion region with 15[Formula: see text]ps input pulses of 0.5[Formula: see text]MW peak power, the SC spectrum has a spectral width extending from 210[Formula: see text]nm to 1140[Formula: see text]nm. These results demonstrate AAF has strong potential in dispersion control and generating broad-spectrum UV SC.
