Beyond classifications: Pregnancy associated with structural left ventricular abnormality
Cardiovascular diseases are diagnosed in 1%-4% of all pregnant women and remain the most common non-obstetric causes of maternal death [1].Furthermore, cardiovascular complications during pregnancy represent a significant clinical challenge, particularly in patients with structural or functional cardiac abnormalities [2].A 26-year-old woman was referred to outpatient department with complaints of palpitations at 12 week of gestation.Symptoms were present since adolescent, however aggravated during first trimester.Medical history was significant for an MTHFR gene mutation and depression managed with venlafaxine 75 mg/daily.Family history was unremarkable.
