Theologie van het gezin in de ontmoeting met de periferie: Het geval van inheemse gezinnen in Canada

Whereas in the past, the Church has usually gone out to convert others, in our times there is an increasingly clear realization that the Church is in need of conversion. One evident path of this conversion is the Church's relationship with Indigenous peoples in Canada. Amidst the rising aspiration in the Catholic Church today to inform our theology with marginal voices, doing theology starting from the existential peripheries, this research consists of encountering Indigenous families in Canada in order to listen to them and learn from them. Using empirical research methods, we will reflect theologically on their experiences and perspectives of family life as a step towards transforming our way of doing theology of the family and ultimately contributing to the ongoing ecclesial conversion in today's world, as a Church that listens and is converted in her encounter with others, especially those whose voices often go unheard.
