An Axiomatic Framework for Structural Physics

Physical theories are usually formulated within different mathematical and ontological frameworks. Despite these differences, their fundamental structures exhibitremarkable similarities, which reappear in mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and general relativity. This suggests that these theoriesare not fundamentally independent, but can instead be understood as different realizations of common underlying structural principles.

Abstract

Physical theories are usually formulated within different mathematical and ontological frameworks. Despite these differences, their fundamental structures exhibitremarkable similarities, which reappear in mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and general relativity. This suggests that these theoriesare not fundamentally independent, but can instead be understood as different realizations of common underlying structural principles.
