THE CURRENT STATUS OF YEREVAN'S GREEN SPACES AND TREATMENT PARTICULARITIES

The development and maintenance of urban green spaces play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, enhancing climate resilience, and promoting public well-being in modern cities. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of the dynamics of green space development in Yerevan, Armenia, from 2022 to 2024, with a focus on both quantitative expansion and qualitative improvements. Using secondary data analysis, elevation-based district comparisons, and climate records, the study evaluates the state of green areas across 12 administrative districts. The findings reveal uneven distribution patterns, with Nor Nork and Malatia-Sebastia districts showing the highest indicators in terms of area and recreational units, while Erebuni and Nubarashen districts lag. The research highlights the growing importance of drought-tolerant and ornamental tree species, along with the implementation of agro-technical measures such as seasonal fertilization, improved irrigation systems, and disease prevention strategies. Additionally, the results indicate a strong correlation between green space vitality and both climatic conditions and the efficiency of maintenance systems. The study concludes with targeted recommendations for enhancing the sustainability, accessibility, and ecological function of Yerevan's urban green infrastructure.
