A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES ON THE USE OF ICT TOOLS ON STUDENT-TEACHERS DURING PRACTICE-TEACHING

The use of information and technology (ICT) tools has influenced the teaching practice experiences of student-teachers. These tools allow the student teachers to have deep and concrete experience of the content to be taught by them during teaching practice. Thereby making their teaching job better by increasing students’ active participation. Thus, this study aimed to know the impact of demographic variables on the use of ICT tools on B. Ed student-teachers during their teaching practice. Researchers conducted a descriptive survey using Google Form, which included 25 questions. The questionnaire selected demographic information such as gender, locality, academic level and discipline of study by the participants. Researchers collected a total of 46 responses through purposive sampling techniques to know the impact of these demographic variables on the use of ICT tools upon the student-teacher’s during teaching-practice. Thus, obtained data was statistically analyzed by calculating the mean, standard deviation, and using the t-test. The findings revealed that there was no significant difference in the impact of demographic variables on the use of ICT tools on Student-teachers during teaching practice.
