Construction of WZ pairs by the extended Zeilberger algorithm

Abstract We introduce a method for constructing WZ (Wilf-Zeilberger) pairs using the extended Zeilberger algorithm. With this approach, we are able to give eleven WZ pairs corresponding to the identity (H.1) due to Van Hamme. Furthermore, we describe a technique for generating q -analogues of these WZ pairs.
