Almost Minimal Morsifications of Functions of Two Real Variables

We construct morsifications with exactly one real extremum point for real analytic functions of two variables whose level set consists of smooth branches. As an application of this theory, morsifications of functions invariant with respect to an irreducible group action are constructed.
