The Effects of a 12-Week Combined Core and Flexibility Exercise Program on Physical Fitness and Driving Distance in Amateur Female Golfers in Their 40s and 50s
This study examined the effects of a 12-week combined core and flexibility training program on physical strength and driving distance in female amateur golfers in their 40s and 50s. Thirty amateur female golfers were recruited and randomly assigned to an experimental group (15) and a control group (15). Three participants dropped out during the study, resulting in a final sample of 12 participants in the experimental group and 15 in the control group. The experimental group received a combined core and flexibility training program, while the control group received a flexibility training program. Flexibility, strength, X-factor, and driving distance tests were performed before (pre-test) and 12 weeks after (post-test). Results showed that flexibility, strength, X-factor, and driving distance in the experimental group significantly improved compared to the control group. In summary, a 12-week combined core and flexibility training program for amateur female golfers in their 40s and 50s was found to have a significant effect on improving flexibility, strength, X-factor, and driver distance, and was found to be positively helpful in improving 7-iron distance.
