SENSORY MANIPULATION IN CYCLISTS
This paper explores the integration of neuro-palliative strategies and sensory afferent feedback as a means to optimize endurance performance in cyclists. Rooted in the Central Governor Model, the text examines how the human nervous system prioritizes primitive 'fight or flight' survival mechanisms over logical deliberation during high-intensity exercise, leading the Hypothalamus to initiate a protective 'safe mode' that downregulates motor performance. The author details specific 'sensory hacks' designed to manipulate the feedback received by the Insular Cortex—the brain’s interoceptive feeling center—to delay this downregulation
