Application and Effects of VR-Based Aviation Safety Content in Cabin Safety Training Programs

This study examined the effects of virtual reality(VR)-based aviation safety content on learners’ educational immersion, learning satisfaction, and job competency readiness in cabin safety training. While the effectiveness of VR training has been repeatedly reported in the literature, empirical research directly comparing VR with traditional training in the aviation field has been limited. This study compared 120 aviation service major students in a VR training group with those in a traditional training group and conducted a structural equation modeling(SEM)-based analysis. The results showed that VR training significantly outperformed traditional training in terms of training immersion and learning satisfaction, and also satisfied the criteria for non-inferiority test on job competency readiness. This study holds both academic and practical significance, as it comprehensively validates the effectiveness and applicability of VR training.
