Thickness and Volume of Glaciers in the Mongun-Taiga Massif (Altai) in 2021 Based on Ground Penetrating Radar and Modeling Data
Glacier boundaries in the Mongun-Taiga massif were determined using hydrological and morphological approaches, and a reduction in glaciated area was determined for 2010–2021. The GlabTop2 model for flat-top glaciers was calibrated using ground-penetrating radar data. A range of ice volume values for the entire massif was obtained using the GlabTop2 model, using power-law relationships for morphological and hydrological approaches to glacier boundary delineation. The contribution of different glacier types to the structure of ice reserves was assessed.
