Living-Ratio City: A Systems Framework for Urban Coherence and Environmental Exposure
Note on scope and status This paper presents Living-Ratio City as a bounded systems hypothesis and methodological scaffold, not as an empirical validation study, optimisation framework, design prescription, or policy proposal. The work adopts a non-causal, observational stance, treating coherence as an inferred systems condition examined through longitudinal patterns in non-invasive regulatory indicators (e.g. heart-rate variability, sleep regularity, affective stability). Environmental exposure is operationalised as a multivariate time-series describing proportional characteristics of the built environment, without asserting biological mechanism, determinism, or universality. The ATLAS–T formulation (T = P × κ × R) functions here as an organising analytic language, not as a physical or biological law. Proportion, phase, and resonance are used as comparative descriptors to structure observation and analysis, not as targets for optimisation or normative design. No clinical interpretation, diagnostic inference, or prescriptive urban guidance is made. The Composite Coherence Index introduced in this paper is intended solely for within-study comparison, without external calibration or generalisation claims. This volume represents a post-origin, scope-tightened articulation within the Atlas Codex. It explicitly separates hypothesis generation from validation and is retained as a methods-first research scaffold to support future empirical, comparative, or interdisciplinary investigation under clearly defined constraints.
