Analytic Instability of Non–Algebraic Hodge Classes and Holonomy Rigidity of Parallel (p, p)–Forms

We develop a rigidity–based resolution of the Hodge conjecture by combining an- alytic instability with holonomy–theoretic constraints. First, we show that any non–algebraic rational Hodge (p,p)–class on a smooth projective complex manifold is analytically unstable: it cannot be represented by a harmonic form that remains stable under K¨ahler metric deformation. Consequently, any geometrically admissible candidate for a counterexample to the Hodge conjecture must admit a parallel harmonic (p,p)–representative. We then classify holonomy–invariant parallel (p,p)–forms using Berger’s holonomy classification. In each admissible irreducible K¨ahler holonomy case—U(n), SU(n), and Sp(n)—we show that such forms are generated by standard invariant forms and therefore represent algebraic cycles. Reducible holonomy cases are treated via the de Rham decomposition theorem. Together, these results yield a holonomy rigidity principle for parallel (p,p)–forms and provide a complete structural exclusion of non–algebraic Hodge classes.
