An empirical study on effectiveness of children’s English learning ability assisted by artificial intelligence

This paper conducts an empirical study on the human-computer symbiosis teaching model based on the comprehensive perspective of education, ecology and linguistics to improve the English learning ability of primary school students and aims to verify the effectiveness of the human-computer symbiosis teaching model. In the teaching experiment, two classes of Grade four were randomly selected as the research objects in S primary School in C City, and quasi-experimental research was conducted on the experimental group and the control group. After a school year’s teaching experiment, the English performance of primary school students in the experimental class has been greatly improved after the application of human-computer symbiosis teaching model, and the class’s overall English performance improved steadily, while the English performance of the control class has not been improved significantly. In addition, students in the experimental class have improved in the dimensions of language skills, comprehensive language application ability, higher-order cognitive ability and language strategy ability, but the improvement effect in the dimension of language knowledge ability is not obvious. The experimental results demonstrate that adopting the human-computer symbiosis teaching model significantly improves the English achievement and learning abilities of primary school students.
