Research progress on the characteristics of PPLP materials for high-temperature superconducting cable insulation
With the rapid development of high-temperature superconducting technology, high-temperature superconducting cables have demonstrated significant potential in the field of power transmission due to their high efficiency and low loss characteristics. This paper reviews the research progress of PPLP materials in the application of high-temperature superconducting cable insulation. The electrical, space charge and thermodynamic characteristics of PPLP used for HTS cable insulation are analyzed. The adaptability of PPLP materials in power transmission, rail transit, extreme environment and other fields is prospected. Findings support HTS cable design and engineering, promoting superconducting transmission industrialization. The findings of this study offer theoretical foundations and technical references for the design and application of HTS cables, 1. Systematically evaluates PPLP’s electrical (breakdown strength, dielectric loss), mechanical (yield strength, elastic modulus), and thermodynamic properties in liquid nitrogen. 2. Reveals the interface-dominated space charge accumulation mechanism of PPLP, and quantifies the effects of impregnating agent viscosity and moisture on charge dynamics. 3. Provides a validated experimental framework for testing cryogenic insulation materials, with reproducible data on PD and breakdown characteristics.
