Assessment of Non-invasive Parameters prior to diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertension in patients with Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD-PH)
<title>Extract</title> Interstitial lung disease related pulmonary hypertension (ILD-PH) is associated with high symptom burden, reduced quality of life and has one of the worst prognoses of all PH subgroups. [1, 2] The onset of PH in patients with ILD is insidious and progressive. [3] Diagnosis remains challenging, as confirmation and stratification require invasive right heart catheterisation (RHC), where pulmonary hypertension is defined by a mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) >20 mmHg together with pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) >2 Wood units (WU). [1] Some patients, “rapid progressors”, with an increase in PVR of over 2 WU per year, have even worse outcomes [4].
