Guo Moruos Ansichten zur deutschen Literatur
As a translator and revolutionary, Guo Moruo selectively translated and accepted German literature in the light of Chinese reality and the context of the times, and gave German literature of different periods very different connotations and missions, making it diverse.During the May Fourth period, German literature played the role of enlightenment and edification; during the period of exile in Japan, German literature was used as a propaganda tool to speak out for the national defence literature; during the period of the war of resistance, German literature combined the attributes of people's democracy and cultural connotations, and responded to the demands of nationalism; in the early period of the founding of the nation, Guo Moruo re-examined and revised the German language literature in conformity with the dominant ideology of the times.German literature intervened in China's historical process and played its role in response to the call of the times, and Guo Moruo's changes in his view of German literature also mirrored the development of his ideological changes in different periods of time.
