Calamagrostis gaoligongensis (Poaceae: Agrostidinae)—An Addition to the Flora of India

ABSTRACT Calamagrostis gaoligongensis (Paszko) Paszko, a species closely allied to C. debilis Hook. f., is reported here for the first time from India, based on a collection made near Menchukha, Shi‐Yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian specimen closely matches the diagnostic features described for the species from its type locality in Gaoligongshan, northwestern Yunnan, China. A detailed morphological description, along with colored photographic illustrations, is provided to facilitate its identification and comparison with morphologically related taxa. This discovery extends the known distribution range of C. gaoligongensis westward into the Eastern Himalaya and contributes to the understanding of Sino‐Himalayan floristic connections.
