Editorial: Advances in genomic medicine and gynecological sciences

Genomic medicine has profoundly transformed gynecological knowledge, principally within 9 oncology, by enabling a more sophisticated understanding of tumor biology, interpatient 10 heterogeneity and mechanisms of disease progression and treatment resistance. High-throughput 11 sequencing technologies, molecular profiling and integrative analytical approaches have contributed 12 to a paradigmatic shift from classic clinicopathological classifications to biologically determined and 13 personalized management strategies. Abstract

Despite these advances, the clinical translation of genomic 14 innovations remains complex, requiring strong validation, interdisciplinary integration and careful 15 consideration of ethical, logistical, and healthcare system-related challenges. 16The main aim of this Research Topic was to explore recent advances in genomic medicine applied to 17 gynecological cancers, with a specific focus on prognostic stratification, biomarker discovery and the 18 integration of molecular and clinical data into tailored oncological care.
