Comparison of Flexural Strength According to Post-Curing Time of Temporary Restorative Resins Manufactured Using a 3D Printer
Objective: This study fabricated temporary restorative resin specimens with varying post-curing times and compared the flexural strength of each resin. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the fabrication of satisfactory prostheses using temporary restorative resins. Methods: Test specimens of temporary restorative resins were fabricated using a 3D printer. The specimens were divided into three groups with post-curing times of 5, 10, and 20 minutes. The flexural strength of the fabricated specimens was measured and compared using MCT-1150. Results:The flexural strength of the temporary restorative resins varied depending on the post-curing time. The average flexural strength values were 152.75 at 5 minutes, 158.27 at 10 minutes, and 162.07 at 20 minutes. The longer the post-curing time, the higher the flexural strength. Conclusion:This study demonstrated that the flexural strength of temporary restorative resins increases with increasing post-curing time. However, if only flexural strength sufficient for clinical use is secured, prolonged post-curing appears to be meaningless.
