The Time That Beats: Redefining the Pulse of the Real
This article inaugurates the post-treatise Chronon Field series, extending Time May Not Exist! (Brécheteau, 2025, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17214502). Version history V1.0 — Original French edition. V2.0 — English translation of V1.0 with technical clarifications. V3.0 — Harmonized edition (FR + EN) including the full bibliography and the “operational distinction” clarification (Φ is neither proper time nor a generic decoherence rate). This release is the English V3.0, aligned with the French V3.0 and including the complete bibliography. Core concept Time is not a universal flow but a measurable, local pulsation. The Chronon Field Φ(x) represents a local frequency of coherence. The framework is non-energetic and leaves general relativity fully intact: light cones and stress-energy dynamics remain unchanged. Only durations, cadences, and observable coherences are reparametrized, and accessed through comparative synchronization (clock networks, closure tests, and gauge-safe invariants). Content highlights Explicit statement of the master laws (postulates + admissible observables). Weak-field dictionary linking Φ-variations to standard gravitational frequency shifts. Dimensionless residuals in fractional frequency: (δν/ν)res=(δν/ν)obs−(δν/ν)GR(\delta \nu/\nu)_{\rm res} = (\delta \nu/\nu)_{\rm obs} - (\delta \nu/\nu)_{\rm GR}(δν/ν)res=(δν/ν)obs−(δν/ν)GR, anchored to the geodesic slope (~1.1×10−161.1\times 10^{-16}1.1×10−16 per meter). Empirical validation pipeline P1–P4 (clocks; qubits/entangled pairs; long baselines; cognition as an explicitly downstream, exploratory layer), with null tests (anti-gauge loops, link permutations) and explicit acceptance/failure criteria. Impact and outlook This paper opens the 2025–2026 series on the physics and philosophy of rhythm and prepares Ontology of Rhythm: Toward a Post-Classical Metaphysics.
