Higher-order Derivative Voltabsorptmetry of Tris(acetylacetonato)iron (III) Complex in Acetonitrile
A voltaborptmetric property of tris(acetylacetonato)iron (III) (Fe(acac)3) in acetonitrile in an optically transparent thin layer cell was investigated. The obtained electronic absorption spectra were analyzed using the higher-order derivative conversion (HODC) up to the eighth order. The Nernst equation can analyze the potential dependence of the sub-peak obtained by the HODC, and the HODC method is shown to be effective for studying the spectroelectrochemistry of metal complexes dissolved in non-aqueous systems.
