Introduction to S25-a scalable asymmetry-amplified hybrid quantum-classical protocol

This work introduces a scalable hybrid quantum-classical, post quantum-resistant protocol that amplifies the attacker’s noise in quantum channels to resist a near omniscient adversary. The work also introduces a new metric called MMI-1. MMI-1 is explored to demonstrate the resilience against quantum computers. The protocol is then evaluated against regular quantum-key-distribution protocols and compound post-quantum-cryptography protocols while classifying it into a new category of QKD-PQC hybrid protocols. A hyper-simplified implementation is provided for better clarity and to showcase the main advantages of using this protocol. It is then stress-tested against the BB84 family of protocols under the lowest scaling possible, where it beats BB84 with a significant margin. Noise models are introduced, and the protocol is simulated and evaluated under low and extreme noise settings.
