IRIS Framework: Emergent Lorentzian Spacetime from Information-Theoretic Lattice Dynamics
IRIS is an exploratory information-theoretic framework in which Lorentzian spacetime emerges dynamically from the minimization of a universal information functional acting on discrete, exceptional-lattice-inspired geometries. Numerical simulations show that Lorentzian signatures are robustly selected over Euclidean configurations for fixed-rank lattices (N=60), suggesting that causal spacetime structure is an emergent, non-equilibrium attractor rather than an imposed background. In this model, inertial dynamics and cosmological phenomena arise from lattice relaxation and information flow, with dark matter and dark energy interpreted as geometric stress effects. The work is speculative, reproducible, and intended to stimulate further investigation into emergent spacetime and information-based gravity. Methodology. Human–AI collaboration in which the human author provided conceptual architecture and physical interpretation, while AI assisted formalization and numerical implementation under supervision. Status. Speculative research artifact; not peer reviewed. The core numerical result is reproducible, while broader theoretical implications remain conjectural. This version supersedes all previous deposits. Falsifiability. The framework would be falsified by:(i) absence of ultra-light axion-like signatures in the range 2.5–3.5 × 10⁻²¹ eV;(ii) strictly constant dark energy equation of state w = −1;(iii) detection of a fourth fermion generation; or(iv) failure of the predicted velocity scaling V(z = 2) / V(0) ≈ 1.51.
