Scattering measurement for steep incident angles of skin phantoms at millimeter wave frequencies
Millimeter wave radiation is non-ionizing and allows a high spatial resolution which makes it interesting for medical applications. The examination of the electrical properties of living tissues like skin is still challenging regarding its mobility. In this paper, the scattering properties of skin phantoms have been measured for a comparison with living skin. It is discussed whether skin phantoms could be used as a standard sample which has similar electrical properties as real skin, but shows also promising properties like time-invariant characteristics and a nearly flat surface.
