Perfect Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces with Sensing Functionality
Integrating sensing functionality into reconfigurable intelligent surfaces opens up new possibilities for advanced integrated sensing and communication systems. Here, we present a novel design methodology for a dual-function reconfigurable intelligent surface. It makes simultaneous perfect anomalous reflection and continuous angle-of-arrival sensing possible through dynamic load reconfiguration. Therefore, the detection of user signals from unknown directions is achieved.
