Farfield and Coupling Analysis of an Ultra Broadband THz Device
This paper analyzes the farfield radiation pattern of a broadband light concentrating device aimed at enhancing light-matter interactions at THz frequency where a 1mm long waveguide opens into an exponentially tapered antenna. We investigate the tradeoff with respect to the radiation pattern on the two orthogonal principal planes under two circumstances- lower opening angle with higher opening aperture diameter and, higher opening angle with lower opening aperture from 1.4THz to 4.25THz frequency. Our broader objective is to improve the coupling of the mode to the exiting farfield.
