Re: Rezai A, Ranjan M, Bhagwat A et al. “Brain injury during focused ultrasound neuromodulation for substance use disorder.” Brain stimul. 2025

I appreciate the authors’ openness in publishing this case report of a brain injury during a 220 kHz focused-ultrasound neuromodulation (FUS) of the nucleus accumbens (NAc) [1]. However, there are several exposure and safety details that are missing or unclear, thus limiting what the field can learn from this event.

Abstract

I appreciate the authors’ openness in publishing this case report of a brain injury during a 220 kHz focused-ultrasound neuromodulation (FUS) of the nucleus accumbens (NAc) [1]. However, there are several exposure and safety details that are missing or unclear, thus limiting what the field can learn from this event.
