Retroclival Hematoma: An Imaging Perspective of a Rare Extra-axial Haemorrhage
Retroclival hematoma (RCH) is a rare form of extra-axial hemorrhage along the posterior surface of the clivus, most commonly secondary to trauma, and can be seen in all age groups. Most published reports are in the pediatric population, with limited literature addressing the imaging characteristics of RCH in adults. In this article, we review the various subtypes of retroclival hematoma based on the space of origin, imaging features, causes, and potential mimics.ABBREVIATIONS: RCH = Retro-clival hematoma.
