Perspectives on IPCC assessment of SLCF role in climate
From our experience in the 6th Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment report (AR6), we found difficulties in communicating clear messages to policymakers due to the intricacies inherent to Short Lived Climate Forcers (SLCFs). Here, we highlight some of the limitations in knowledge or methodologies that restricted this assessment, and identify challenges for the upcoming 7th cycle if it is to adequately distill the knowledge on SLCFs relevant to climate actions.
