Public Knowledge and Attitudes towards Antibiotic Use: Implications for Antimicrobial Resistance
Antimicrobial resistance is a big problem for public health around the world, and it happens because people use antibiotics in a wrong or too much way. What people know and think about using antibiotics affects how they use medicine and helps make antimicrobial resistance worse. This article looks at how people's knowledge and views on using antibiotics can lead to resistance. Many studies show that people still believe antibiotics can treat all kinds of infections, including those caused by viruses. People who want to get better quickly without thinking about the future problems also use antibiotics the wrong way. This makes bacteria stronger and faster develop resistance. So, it's important to improve health education and make doctors and pharmacists more involved in helping people use antibiotics properly to stop resistance from growing.
