Aftereffect of unconventional fertilizers on the Non-Chernozem region's forage ecosystems
The level of application of organic and mineral fertilizers in agricultural organizations in the Non-Chernozem zone of Russia is insufficient to preserve and increase soil fertility and ensure optimal circulation of substances in agricultural landscapes. It is important to use local sources of fertilizers, including unconventional ones (peat, shungite). In Federal Williams Research Center of Forage Production & Agroecology in 2022, the aftereffect of unconventional fertilizers on annual ryegrass grass was studied in lysimeters with sod-podzolic medium loamy soil. Earlier in 2018–2021, lysimetric studies were conducted here to study the effect of non-traditional fertilizers (shungite, zeolite, humates, and charcoal powder) on cereals and perennial grasses (corn, alfalfa, cereals and various grasses). It was found that the aftereffect of humic fertilizers obtained from local peat deposits in the Non-Chernozem region is most pronounced; shungite, zeolite and charcoal are more weak. The greatest efficiency from their use is achieved when combined with mineral fertilizers.
