IRIS Framework: Emergent Lorentzian Spacetime from Information-Theoretic Lattice Dynamics

IRIS is an exploratory information-theoretic framework in which Lorentzian spacetime emerges from the minimization of a universal information functional acting on non-commutative spectral algebras. Numerical evidence (N = 60, fixed random seed) shows that Lorentzian signatures achieve a substantially lower informational cost than Euclidean configurations under E₈-inspired topological frustration. The framework derives an intrinsic coupling constant, χ = 240/128 = 1.875, from the internal structure of the E8 root system. This coupling yields emergent inertial dynamics consistent with galactic rotation curves and the baryonic Tully–Fisher relation without invoking particulate dark matter. Within IRIS, dark matter and dark energy are interpreted as complementary manifestations of information flow and geometric drag in a discrete lattice substrate. A non-equilibrium extension couples lattice relaxation to cosmic expansion, yielding a dynamical effective description of dark energy and redshift-dependent, observationally testable predictions. We provide a demonstration that the fine structure constant is a structural resonance emerging from the intersection of E8 (Bulk) and H4 (Spacetime) symmetries. We utilize a (8,9) flux stabilization on a K3 manifold to resolve the torsional residual. This work is shared as an open, AI-assisted research artifact with fully reproducible numerical results. Abstract
