Harmonic Resonance Characteristics of Wind Farm Collector Systems under Varying Cable Insulation Conditions

Multiple converters in the collector system of offshore wind farms are interconnected through submarine cables, resulting in complex impedance interactions that can easily trigger wideband harmonic resonance. However, existing resonance analyses are typically based on system parameters defined during the design stage or initial commissioning, without considering the impact of cable insulation condition variations after long-term operation. To address this problem, a detailed model of the wind turbine converters and submarine cables is developed. The relationship between cable insulation parameter variations and harmonic resonance characteristics is then thoroughly analyzed. Finally, the validity of the analysis is verified through simulations under different scenarios.
