Photovoltaic applications of 1D TiO 2 nanostructures in dye-sensitized solar cells
Abstract This review critically examines the role of the photoanode in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), with main focus on one dimensional (1D) TiO 2 nanostructures and TiO 2 based nanocomposites. The integration of 1D TiO 2 and nanocomposites is analyzed as a strategy to improve efficiency through controlled photoanode design. Additionally, the effects of doping and morphological modifications of TiO 2 are evaluated to understand their impact on charge transport, light harvesting and stability.
