Self-Regulated Design Thinking(SR-DT) Process Reflection Guide Model Development
The purpose of this study is to develop a self-regulated design thinking (SR-DT) reflection guide model that systematically integrates self-regulated learning mechanisms into the design thinking process and a self-checking checklist for learners that embody it and verify its validity. To this end, a total of 16 expert panelists were surveyed three times in Delphi. As a result of the study, the validity of the final model that integrates the five-step process of design thinking and the cyclical mechanism of self-regulated learning was secured. The final model visually embodied cyclicality and regression, which are the core principles of design thinking, and includes 30 self-check checklists that allow learners to judge task fidelity, the thinking process (proliferation/convergence), and the need for regression for themselves at each stage. This study has academic and practical significance in that it reconceptualizes design thinking as a high-level metacognitive practice rather than a simple procedural activity and presents specific and practical educational tools to cultivate learners' self-directed problem-solving capabilities.
