Individual Psychology: A Key to My Transcendence
Abstract: Adlerian Psychology, to me, paints a path for dreamers and adventurers. I first heard of it in a Theories of Counseling course during my undergraduate studies, and it instantly resonated with me. It was user-friendly, purposeful, and holistic. It also transferred the agency of change onto the person while acknowledging the influences of family, community, and the universe at large. Subsequently, I met many Adlerians who inspired me while cultivating a sense of comfort between us. I have often felt joy that a large body of knowledge could feel like a best friend with whom one adventures, creates, and discovers. Thus, I believe the Adler family has found an effective way to bridge science with art and spirituality and make purpose come to light with the guideline of Gemeinschaftsgefühl.
