The healthcare industry, being people-centric and service-oriented, necessitates equitable employment practices, inclusive work cultures, and effective management of workforce diversity to ensure both employee well-being and quality patient care. This study examines the impact of workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion on the work environment and employee performance in healthcare industries located in Pune District, Maharashtra. The research adopts a descriptive survey research design, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data are collected through structured questionnaires, interviews, and observations from healthcare professionals across selected hospitals, while secondary data are drawn from published research articles, government reports, and legal frameworks related to equality and labor laws. A stratified random sampling method is employed, selecting 435 employees from 29 accredited hospitals in Pune District. Statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, correlation, regression analysis, and chi-square tests are applied using SPSS software to test hypotheses and analyze relationships among DEI variables and organizational outcomes. The study focuses on key dimensions of workforce diversity, including gender, age, education, cultural background, physical abilities, and skill levels, and evaluates their influence on employee satisfaction, promotion practices, work performance, and organizational effectiveness. Findings are expected to provide empirical evidence on the role of DEI in shaping inclusive healthcare workplaces, identifying challenges such as gender imbalance, limited career development opportunities, and resource constraints. The study aims to contribute policy-relevant insights and strategic recommendations for healthcare administrators, policymakers, and academic researchers to strengthen DEI practices and promote sustainable organizational development in the healthcare sector.
