Next‐Generation Paradigm in Dental Implants: Mechanistic Insights and Translational Innovations for Oral Rehabilitation
ABSTRACT Dental implants have transmuted restorative dentistry by offering durable, root‐analog surrogates for hypodontia. Their long‐term performance be synchronized on a coordinated interaction of biological, mechanical, and material features, including osseointegration, soft tissue attachment, and biomechanical stability. Recent advancements uncover novelty through the integration of nanotechnology, surface modification, and regenerative strategies. Nano‐engineered surfaces and specialized coatings enhance bone integration and confer antibacterial properties, while additive manufacturing and 3D bioprinting enable to design patient‐specific scaffolds embedded with bioactive agents and stem cells. Such approaches go beyond conventional prosthetic restoration, aiming instead to regenerate native dental structures such as dentin, pulp, and periodontal ligament with both structural precision and functional relevance. By conglomerating the aspects this review critically leverages mechanistic insights with emerging fabrication technologies, surface architectures, and AI‐assisted design frameworks and silhouette translational pathways for next‐generation bio‐integrated dental implants in oral rehabilitation.
