Rare-earth inverse sandwich compounds supported by a dianionic five-membered aromatic ligand

The first rare-earth( iii ) inverse sandwich compounds, stabilized by a compact boron-heterocyclic ligand, have been isolated. Such architectures could ensure the local anisotropy axes of the dysprosium ions align with the magnetic exchange path.
