Comment on ‘Clinical phenotype of 504 patients with pustular psoriasis from Europe and Egypt: a multicentre observational study’: towards genotype-guided management and targeted therapy trials
We comment on a large multicentre study revealing significant demographic and phenotypic differences in pustular psoriasis between European and Egyptian patients. The high rate of generalized disease and consanguinity in Egyptian patients suggests a strong genetic predisposition. We propose investigating Janus kinase inhibitors as a targeted therapy and advocate for genotype-guided, regionally tailored management.
