Analysis of Occupant Satisfaction with Residential Environment Following Green Remodeling of Aging Apartments
Purpose: With aging apartments rapidly increasing from 18.2% in 2019 to 28% in 2024, green remodeling has emerged as a critical strategy for improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. This study aimed to diagnose the current status of green remodeling in aging apartments, identify improvement opportunities, and assess occupant satisfaction with residential environment improvements. Through occupant satisfaction surveys and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), this research evaluated the effectiveness of green remodeling in aging apartments and provided recommendations for future policy implementation. Method: A survey of 500 households was conducted to assess occupant satisfaction with green remodeling. Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was performed to identify priority improvement areas and evaluate the effectiveness of green remodeling measures. Result: Results demonstrated 97.4% overall satisfaction, with highest ratings for interior design (8.06/10), electricity bill reduction (7.90/10), and thermal insulation (7.88/10). IPA analysis showed these improvements are effectively maintained, while indoor air quality and usable floor area require focused improvements. Strategic priorities from IPA analysis provide foundational data for developing more effective green remodeling policies and implementation strategies.
