DNA Landscape - An interactive website to help build visual literacy in molecular biology

The DNA Landscape is a framework developed to help learners understand how DNA-linked topics in biology are communicated through visual representations. We animated this framework with interactive animations that help students see how different visual representations of DNA use shapes and symbols to illustrate the structure of nucleotides, genes, and chromosomes.

To launch animations that show the relationships between different visualizations of DNA, click on two adjacent boxes in the DNA Landscape. For more information about how shapes and symbols are used to represent a particular genetic structure, click on the "i" icon in the bottom right corner of the box.
